The launch I am currently building is strip planked on laminated frames, she is being built all out of the same Khaya log apart from her decks, seats, gunwales, beadings and all bright work which will be Teak, she is a copy of a boat which was built in 1929 and was used for many years in Salcombe by the Island Cruising Club for ferrying people around. When she is completed we are then going to build a 20ft. clinker launch for a customer who wants a bass fishing boat, we have already completed the tender which is an 11ft. rowing dinghy.
We have now built thirty Salcombe Yawls in all and well over a hundred boats since we moved to our current workshop in 1978, these include six rowing regatta boats for Salcombe, along with several cabin cruisers and launches, dinghies both sailing and rowing, and one off copies of several types of boat.
